His father, the Duke, is dead, alongside a million of the finest sailors and marines the galaxy had ever seen.  And he…is sentenced to exile. The last loyalists of the Dynasty stand by him. A mismatched flotilla of ragged warships and weathered freighters, turned away from civilized space and thrust into the deep end as the unwilling vanguard of human expansion. Awakening in a universe wholly different to the one he left, James sees that humanity has forgotten the Akrites name. Time to remind them.
